Marian Howard
Marian Howard has been painting full time for over 42 years using watercolors as her primary medium. Howard is a meticulous artist whose goal is to capture the past and present of her people, highlighting their lone pride, majesty and resilience. She explains it best, as she writes that “from the Southern exposure of my people in their everyday existence, to the roots of their African heritage, in their eyes tell a story of the past and present, of great joy and pain, with love in their hearts and always a willingness to forgive.” She further iterates her commitment, and declares “I will continue to create and dare to be different for art has no color – it is about what touches your soul.” Her work is in the permanent collection at Medgar Evers College, AT&T in NJ, and Apopka, Florida City Hall; in addition to many private collectors. The production company of TV series Atlanta purchased four works that are featured in the series.
