Jerry Lynn’s portraiture is styled from broad, layered colors, rugged detail work and warm palettes. His ‘Buffalo Soldier’ featuring a young man donning a wide-brimmed hat, is a tribute to a 1866 US Army regiment. The Buffalo Soldiers were US Army regiments composed exclusively of African-American soliders, giving their name by native Americans because of their dark, curly hair which resembled a buffalo’s, and for their fierce nature of fighting.
