Utilizing magazine clippings, skillfully-placed dabs of paints and earthen materials, in “Morro Do Christo” Silva reconstructs the frenzied layout of the favelas that played the setting for his upbringing.

One of four of our Gallery’s Morro series pieces, this sequence of multi-media masterpieces illustrates in intricate detail the criss-crossed layering of concentrated depth of the favelas near Rio De Janiero, where Silva spent his childhood.
